Francis Yoon, CEO of World Crypto Life, launched the company in mid-2020. His LinkedIn profile places him in California. Before World Crypto Life, Yoon was CFO and sole director of Epika Global, a cryptocurrency venture that appears to have failed.
World Crypto Life's domain, worldcryptolife.com, was first registered in July 2020. Private registration details were last updated on July 23rd, 2021, obscuring ownership. The company's website offers no information about its owners or operators.
Adding to the company's leadership is Chief Operating Officer Chris Principe. Principe gained notoriety for his vocal support of the OneCoin Ponzi scheme, a project he initially defended after an interview with its founder, Ruja Ignatova. OneCoin collapsed in early 2017, with Ignatova and several executives facing U.S. criminal charges.
Principe later pursued a public relations deal with the Skyway Capital scheme. Skyway Capital reportedly withdrew from the agreement, citing Principe's association with OneCoin. This information emerged during a defamation lawsuit Principe filed against Timothy Curry, a prominent OneCoin critic. The suit was settled confidentially in April 2018.
World Crypto Life does not offer any retailable products or services. Instead, affiliates market World Crypto Life affiliate membership itself. The company's compensation plan centers on recruitment.
Affiliates invest in IMC and IMEX shares through tiered membership levels. A "Member" investment of $100 yields $100 worth of IMC. An "Elite Member" invests $500 for $500 of IMC. The "VIP Member" level requires $2,000 for $2,000 of IMC. Higher tiers, such as "IMEX5" for $5,000, provide a mix of IMC and IMEX shares, with "IMEX10" at $10,000 and "IMEX25" at $25,000 offering proportionally more IMEX shares.
The expectation is that these investments will eventually yield more than the initial outlay. To protect early investors and enable them to withdraw funds, World Crypto Life imposes a six-month lock-up period on new investments. After this period, invested tokens are released at a rate of 10% per month. The MLM structure of World Crypto Life rewards affiliates for recruiting new members.
